In the case of the first one, where Marlen says she cant find a date, she could do two things to resolve the situation:
1. Find the article again online and look for a publication date.
2. If she can't find the date, she can insert a n.d. or No Date of Publication where the date should go.
The date is useful in references for magazines, journals or newspapers for other researchers to quickly find the information used. It also shows how current the sources are.
